I think it is ridiculous how all the employers out there want to do a background check on all the employees they want to hire before they hire them. If you have a felony or even a misdemeanor they won't even think about hiring you. Well, felons need to survive and work, too!
Everyone makes mistakes! Some people make bigger mistakes than others, but we do ALL make mistakes. Most people have even done things bad enough that they, too, should have been arrested, but they just never got caught. But, everyone wants to look down their noses at the ones that have gotten caught.
I think everyone deserves a second chance! There are so many people out there that have gotten into trouble in the past, but have completely turned their lives around today and do all the right things, But, still can't get a job due to their troubled past.
When you're a convicted felon people look down on you and treat you as if you're not even human anymore. Well, convicted felons have to survive somehow. So, they do it the best way they know how since nobody will give them a chance by hiring them for a job. People wonder why there are so many repeat offenders! Gee, I wonder why?!!! Felons need work, too! Let's start giving them a chance!
